"I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book."
- Groucho Marx
Most of online video sources listed here are for "smart" videos. These are more cerebral alternatives: documentaries, speeches, panel discussions, research reports and more on the arts, current events, business, science, etc. (The list is based on an article by Lee Gomes, WSJ, June 18, 2007). All the videos can be played on either RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, or QuickTime.
Several Web sites which provide links to more popular videos (TV shows, amateur videos, etc.) are also listed here under "General Videos".
